Hadley's baby dedication

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Sunday was a great day for our family. It was Hadley Belle's baby dedictation at our church. She was 1 of 5 babies. She was also the oldest child. It just so happened that all the babies were girls. We wanted to dedicate her to the Lord in front of a body of believers right after she was born but we were not members of a local church at that time. We decided to wait until we found the right home church. We have definitely done that at our current church Immanuel Baptist Church.

HB was not very happy with me because she didn't want to take anymore pictures.

Look at that pout. We see it no less then 10 times a day.

Hadley's baby dedication does NOT give her a ticket to Heaven. As Baptists we do not believe in child baptism.  We believe that salvation has to come first.  Once she is saved then she will be baptized by being immersed in water.  This ceremony was Micah and I's promise, in front of a family of believers, that we will do our best to raise Hadley Belle in a loving, Christian home. We will guide her in the ways of the Lord and hopefully help lead her to salvation.

We were given a letter to give Hadley on the day she asks Jesus into her heart. I do not want to rush time but I cannot wait until she takes this step of faith. The letter is from the church saying they have supported Micah and I in raising a Christian and that they will continue to love and support her as she grows.

This picture is of Bro. Tom praying a prayer for Hadley. We are so thankful for such a God-loving pastor.
